たま【玉･珠】

1 〔球形のもの〕 a round [an oval] object; a ball; (ガラスなどの) a bead; 〔球体〕 a sphere; a globe; a bulb.

●ガラス玉 a glass ball [bead]

・パチンコの玉 a pachinko ball; a pinball

・露の玉 a dewdrop

・10 円玉 a ten-yen coin [piece].

●玉なす露 globules [droplets] of dew; dew that forms globules [droplets, beads] of moisture

・玉と砕ける[散る] be smashed to smithereens

・抜けば玉散る氷の刃 a blade [sword] of icy steel from which beads of light flash when it is drawn.
